YCD’s impact so far has been through creating opportunities for young people to develop and apply their skills while addressing real community challenges.
One example is our YCD Farmer Guide, an AI-powered agricultural solution being developed by young Cameroonians to help farmers access crop-related information and support. The project has gone beyond an idea: the team has participated in several innovation and pitching competitions, received feedback that has helped improve the solution, earned recognition, and is now moving into a testing phase with farmers.
Beyond the technology, the project itself has created an opportunity for young people to use their skills in technology and innovation to work on a problem affecting their communities.
We have also worked on environmental sustainability through our tree nursery and tree-planting activities, helping raise awareness around trees, environmental protection and climate action.
Through our youth and community activities, we have also given young people opportunities to participate, organize, communicate, develop skills and contribute to initiatives addressing issues around them.
So, while YCD is still growing and we are not yet operating at the scale we aspire to, our impact so far is visible in the young people we have engaged, the solutions we have developed, the environmental activities we have carried out, and the communities we are beginning to reach. We are building step by step toward larger and more sustained community impact.
